MONTREAL - Comme si l'excitation n'était pas déjà à son comble, l'acteur canadien Christopher Heyerdahl y est allé de révélations sur le dernier chapitre de la très populaire saga «Twilight», qui prenait l'affiche vendredi.

L'acteur a confié en entrevue que le film «Breaking Dawn II» comprenait quelque chose qui ne figure pas dans les célèbres livres de la saga.

«C'est en quelque sorte un cadeau pour les admirateurs, une chose à laquelle ils ne s'attendent pas, quelque chose qu'ils n'auront pas déjà imaginé. Ce sera une surprise entière», a-t-il expliqué.

Les spectateurs qui ont assisté à la première du film à Los Angeles ont bien apprécié la fin de la série, que M. Heyerdahl décrit comme «le mouvement final d'un opus majeur» très délicat, qui célèbre la série et dont tous les acteurs sont très fiers.

L'acteur a participé à trois des films «Twilight»: «New Moon» et les deux «Breaking Dawn», dans le rôle de Marcus, un membre des Volturi, ces surveillants de l'univers des vampires qui font tout ce qui est nécessaire pour en préserver l'ordre.

M. Heyerdahl, qui est né à Vancouver et qui a vécu à Montréal durant plusieurs années, a admis que le rôle de Marcus lui manquerait un peu.

Dans les films «Twilight», le personnage de Marcus offre un contraste avec ses frères Aro et Caius, plus impitoyables. Il est par exemple en deuil de l'amour de sa vie, qui a péri dans une bataille il y a 2500 ans.

Selon Christopher Heyerdahl, Marcus est également touché par les héros de la série, Edward et Bella, et par la passion qu'il y a entre eux.

Le personnage fait contrepoids à ses confrères plus méchants et essaie d'être la voix de la raison, un rôle très intéressant à jouer, explique M. Heyerdahl, qui joue aussi à la télé dans «Hell On Wheels» et qui a également participé aux séries «True Blood», «Supernatural» et «Santuary».

Alors que la production de «Twilight» tirait à sa fin, les acteurs n'étaient pas mélancoliques, assure M. Heyerdahl.

«C'était en fait un peu une fête», a-t-il lancé, en expliquant que «Twilight» avait fait son entrée au cinéma avec déjà beaucoup d'admirateurs grâce à la popularité des livres, et que ceux-ci avaient des attentes élevées. Ils n'étaient pas tous convaincus au début, mais les admirateurs ont éventuellement apprécié l'interprétation dans les films, a-t-il estimé.

Les membres de la distribution ont maintenant le sentiment du devoir accompli, selon M. Heyerdahl.

Il a exprimé de l'admiration pour les jeunes vedettes du film, qui ont été précipitées dans la célébrité et qui ont bien géré, selon lui, leur notoriété internationale instantanée.

«Ça ne peut pas être facile de passer du statut d'acteur ordinaire à celui d'objet d'une obsession mondiale, et ils s'en sont tirés aussi bien que possible. C'était extraordinaire d'être témoin de ça», a-t-il dit.
