Alex Scholten

Alex obtained a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from the University of New Brunswick in 1987 and a Bachelor of Laws degree in 1990. In 1996, he completed an MBA in International Business at Dalhousie University. He has worked for over 8 years as a corporate / commercial lawyer and over 13 years as a small business owner operating two convenience stores, a restaurant and plaza in Miramichi. In 2011 he was hired as President of the Canadian Convenience Stores Association – a national trade organization that represents the interests Canada's 26,000+ convenience stores. Through these experiences he has first‐hand knowledge of the challenges small businesses face especially when dealing with government.
