Le Prince Harry, Kate et William réunis en grande pompe pour le mariage de Pippa Middleton

Pippa Middleton a dit «oui» devant sa sœur Kate, William et le Prince Harry

Elle avait fait sensation au mariage de sa sœur Kate avec le prince William en 2011 et c'est sous les yeux du couple royal que Pippa Middleton convole, à son tour, ce samedi 20 mai, en justes noces.

La jeune femme, habillée en robe de dentelle blanche avec un décolleté de dos en forme de coeur et un col cheminée, signée du créateur britannique Giles Deacon, a dit "oui" à James Matthews, un riche gestionnaire de fonds d'investissement, ancien pilote de course professionnel et héritier du titre écossais de Laird of Glen Affric, avec qui elle s'était fiancée le 17 juillet 2016.

Le prince Harry, vu sans sa petite amie, l'actrice américaine Meghan Markle, est arrivé avec son frère le prince William, dont la femme Kate, en robe et chapeau vieux rose, était photographiée avec leur fils le prince George, trois ans, et leur fille la princesse Charlotte, deux ans, tous deux enfants d'honneur.

Etaient également présents le champion de tennis suisse Roger Federer et son épouse ainsi que la princesse Béatrice de York, cousine des princes William et Harry.

Écoles élitistes et mondanités

Deuxième d'une famille de trois enfants, Philippa dit Pippa est un an plus jeune que Kate et quatre ans plus âgée que James. Née le 6 septembre 1983, elle a passé ses premières années à Amman, en Jordanie, où son père Michael Middleton travaillait pour British Airways. Elle a ensuite fréquenté une série d'écoles privées élitistes, une fois revenue au Royaume-Uni.

Diplômée de l'université d'Edimbourg en littérature anglaise, elle a rejoint les cercles mondains et festifs de Londres. Et quand sa sœur a épousé le futur roi, Pippa a eu le meilleur second rôle possible en apparaissant au balcon du palais de Buckingham avec la famille royale.

Quand la chute de rein vole la vedette à la mariée

Son allure tonique et sa chute de reins parfaitement mise en valeur par sa tenue de demoiselle d'honneur avaient conduit des centaines de milliers de personnes à rejoindre sur Facebook la "Pippa Middleton Ass Appreciation Society" (la société des fans des fesses de Pippa Middleton, NDLR) qui compte toujours 200.000 fans, six ans après l'événement.

"C'est surprenant d'obtenir une reconnaissance mondiale, si on peut l'appeler comme cela, avant l'âge de 30 ans grâce à votre soeur, votre beau-frère et votre derrière", avait commenté la principale intéressée. Si elle a semblé au départ apprécier l'attention publique, elle a vite été confrontée aux aléas de la célébrité quand un tabloïd a publié des photos d'elle seins nus lors de vacances familiales en 2006.

Mondaine de Londres

Elle a travaillé à mi-temps pour l'entreprise familiale de farces et attrapes avant de publier un livre sur l'organisation de soirée en 2012 pour lequel elle aurait reçu 400.000 livres (475.000 euros) d'à-valoirs.

L'ouvrage, intitulé "Celebrate", a été largement moqué pour offrir des conseils évidents comme par exemple, dans le cas où l'on fait chauffer du lait, "de bien faire attention de ne pas le laisser déborder". En 2016, son livre de recettes saines, "Heartfelt", pour une oeuvre caritative, a suscité moins de commentaires.

Régulièrement invitée dans les loges du tournoi de tennis de Wimbledon, elle reste très active dans les réseaux mondains de la capitale. Sentimentalement, elle avait précédemment fréquenté l'ancien joueur de cricket de l'équipe d'Angleterre Alex Loudon et le courtier en Bourse Nico Jackson.
