«America's next top model»: Tyra Banks annonce la fin de l'émission sur Instagram

Vous rêviez d’être la prochaine top modèle américaine? Fallait vous décider avant puisque la célèbre mannequin et animatrice Tyra Banks vient d’annoncer via Instagram que l’émission de télé-réalité ne reviendra pas à l’antenne après 22 saisons.

La belle a expliqué via un de ses célèbres «TYRA MAIL» qu’après avoir redéfini la beauté et montré au monde comment « smizer » (sourire avec ses yeux), mettre en valeur son coup ou trouver la bonne lumière pendant une séance photo, « il était temps. Vraiment.» de mettre un terme à l'émission.

Au fil des ans, on a vu des femmes avec des courbes, des mannequins de moins de 5’7’’, et même un homme couronné «prochain(e) top modèle américain(e) » en plus de participants de partout dans le monde et beaucoup de diversité, allant jusqu’aux transgenres.

Tyra Banks espère avoir réussi à montrer que la perfection est ennuyeuse.

L’émission est présentée à Musique Plus avec sous-titres en français. Il y a toutefois un décalage avec la diffusion américaine sur la chaîne CW.

I never thought my little idea would have people everywhere thinking differently about how they take photos. And I never thought we'd do 22 cycles. Whoa! So many!!! And what rhymes with 22? You. And you and you and you and you! YOU made Top Model what it is. We are a global force that has so many international versions around the world because of YOU! That's amazing and beyond anything that I ever dreamed. I set out to create a show where Perfect is Boring. So I hope you continue to love your freckles, your moles, your big forehead, your big eyes, your small eyes, your pointy chin, your tiny boobs, your full chest, your ivory or ebony skin (or every color in between) - the stuff about you that makes you well...you. And I hope you've learned a heck of a lot from watching. I have an inkling you have. May your photos (and selfies) be forever fierce. May you always find your light.
