SCRANTON, États-Unis - Un Américain qui avait menacé en ligne de tuer le président Barack Obama a été condamné mercredi à un an de prison.

Le bureau du procureur Peter Smith a indiqué qu'un juge fédéral en Pennsylvanie avait aussi condamné mercredi Nicholas Savino à deux ans de libération conditionnelle, en plus de se débarrasser de ses armes à feu et de ses munitions.

Savino avait plaidé coupable en mars d'avoir publié, sur le site Internet de la Maison-Blanche, une menace indiquant «Président Obama, qui êtes l'antéchrist, puisque vous avez violé la Constitution, vous allez démissionner ou être abattu».

Des procureurs fédéraux ont reconnu qu'il n'y avait aucune preuve que Savino prévoyait effectivement tuer le président. Trois armes à feu et environ 11 000 munitions ont été découvertes dans son logement et sa voiture. L'homme est emprisonné depuis août dernier, quelques jours après avoir publié la menace.
