Au moins 19 personnes ont été tuées quand un arbre déraciné par un orage est tombé sur une foule aux chutes de Kintampo, au Ghana.

L'endroit se trouve à plus de 400 kilomètres au nord de la capitale, Accra.

La plupart des victimes sont des étudiants qui visitaient les lieux, selon un porte-parole de la police.

La ministre ghanéenne du Tourisme, Catherine Afeku, a offert ses condoléances aux familles. Elle a promis qu'elles recevraient l'aide dont elles ont besoin.
