Des milliers de personnes se sont dévêtues et ont peint leur corps en quatre tons de bleu, samedi, pour célébrer le lien entre la ville de Hull, en Angleterre, et la mer.

Le conseil municipal de Hull a indiqué qu'environ 3200 personnes avaient participé à l'événement organisé par le célèbre artiste new-yorkais Spencer Tunick.

L'oeuvre, baptisée "Sea of Hull", a été commandée par la Ferens Art Gallery afin de souligner la désignation de Hull comme ville britannique de la culture l'an prochain.

Spencer Tunik a indiqué que les photos prises lors de l'événement incluaient certains lieux emblématiques de Hull comme le pont piétonnier Scale Lane, un pont pivotant très prisé par les touristes qui visitent cette ville du nord de l'Angleterre.

Hull, située sur l'estuaire de l'Humber, a une longue histoire maritime qui remonte au XIIe siècle.
