L'annonce a été faite par la ministre du Développement international, Marie-Claude Bibeau, à l'occasion du premier Sommet humanitaire mondial qui se tient aujourd'hui et demain à Istanbul, en Turquie. Ce financement servira à développer et à appuyer diverses initiatives humanitaires à l'étranger, dont des services de protection de l'enfance et des programmes de lutte contre l'insécurité alimentaire.
