LOS ANGELES _ Chris Paul a réussi un panier avec une seconde au cadran au dernier quart et les Clippers ont écarté les champions en titre, samedi, remportant un match ultime face aux Spurs de San Antonio, 111-109.

Des lancers francs de Tim Duncan avaient créé l'impasse 109 partout avec 8,8 secondes à disputer avant le tir crucial de Paul, qui a obtenu 27 points.

Blake Griffin a ajouté 24 points, 13 rebonds et 10 passes pour Los Angeles, qui va affronter les Rockets en deuxième ronde.

Cette série va commencer dès lundi soir, à Houston.

Duncan a contribué 27 points pour les Spurs. Ces derniers ont récolté six points de suite venant de rebonds à l'attaque en fin de match, prenant alors l'avance, 107-105, mais cela n'a pas suffi.
