WASHINGTON - Les 29 grands électeurs de Floride ont été attribués jeudi au démocrate Barack Obama, à l'issue du dépouillement de tous les bulletins.

Le président américain aura donc été réélu à la présidence des États-Unis avec 332 grands électeurs au total contre 206 pour son adversaire républicain Mitt Romney.

Il fallait au moins 270 des 538 grands électeurs des 50 États et du District de Columbia pour remporter la présidentielle.

    Cette photo du couple présidentiel prise en mai 2011 lors d'un voyage officiel au Royaume Uni a donné naissance à un nouveau personnage dans la série des "<a href="http://www.ragecomic.fr/description-des-rage-comics/">rage faces</a>" (les visages rageux en français). Ce type de dessins très basiques sont généralement utilisés sur Internet pour raconter des anecdotes de la vie quotidienne, et évidemment Obama en a inspiré plusieurs. (voir diapositive suivante).

  • Obama "not bad"

    Sur Internet, ce dessin s'utilise généralement pour décrire une situation du type "finalement, ça c'est mieux passé que prévu", soit "not bad".

  • Le certificat de naissance

    Le mouvement des "birthers" fait référence à tous ceux qui pensent que Barack Obama n'est pas né sur le sol américain et ne peut donc être président des Etats-Unis. Après plusieurs mois de polémique, en juin 2008, l'équipe de campagne d'Obama a publié une photo du fameux certificat de naissance. Cet épisode du certificat de naissance a resurgi tout au long du mandat d'Obama, et il en va de même sur internet, comme l'illustre cette image faisant le lien entre la mort de Ben Laden et ce running gag.

  • Le poster "Hope"

    Le poster de campagne de Barack Obama fait partie des grands classiques. L'œuvre de l'artiste de rue Shepard Fairey réalisée durant la campagne de 2008 fait sans doute partie des images les plus revisitées de ces dix dernières années et le Web n'est pas étranger au phénomène.
